Outreach

Thank you to those who helped with the Rummage Sale yesterday!  The money raised will go towards Outreach projects.

Outreach Update: On behalf of the Church of the Epiphany, Outreach has made a contribution to Episcopal Relief and Development to support the relief efforts in China and Myanmar.  Go to the website www.er-d.org to find out ways you can contribute individually and to learn more about ERD’s wonderful projects.  You may also contribute by writing a check to Epiphany with “emergency relief’ in the memo line.

AnySoldier - Join us right after the 10:00 service to help pack boxes and write letters to send to the soldiers overseas.

Conejo Valley Free Meal Program - On the second Tuesday evening of every month, next month Tuesday, June 10, members of Epiphany prepare and serve dinner to those who are homeless or of very low income in our community.  For info or to sign up, contact Mary Lehr (818.707.6944).

Formation

Does the Bible really say THAT?

Wednesdays, continuing, May 7, 14, 21, and 28 from 7:30-9:00 p.m.

Please join us for this 5-week series, taught by the Rev. Melissa McCarthy, in which we will explore the Bible, introduce you to major Biblical themes and characters, learn historical information about how the Bible came to be, as well as gain helpful techniques for reading the Bible on your own.  Designed for anyone who is interested in learning and especially for those who know absolutely nothing about the Bible, this series will be relaxed, informative, and non-threatening!  Please contact the church office for more information.

The Epicenter

Epiphany’s new blog is a great way to stay connected during the busy work week!  Check it out at www.epiphanyepicenter.blogspot.com or via the church website.  Also, if you have not already done so, be sure to visit Epiphany’s web site (www.tcote.org) and sign up to receive regular announcements from your church.

The Sunday evening theological discussion group meets next on May 18  from 6:00 - 7:30 pm. We are reading Phyllis Tickle’s brand new book, The Words of Jesus.

This coming Monday is our last gathering for prayer, scripture, and reflection.  We meet in the Chapel at 6:30 p.m.  Hope to see you there.

EYG (Epiphany Youth Group)  It is our last meeting of the 2007/8 year.  It’s a party to kick off  summer.  WE wish all of our wonderful young people and their parents a blessed summer.  See you tonight!

Vacation Bible School is June 23 – 27.  Sign up after church!  We are also looking for volunteers to help with this fun event.  It is a great way to get to know other parishioners!

Other Ongoing Happenings

"Loose Ends" -- the knitting, crocheting, needleworking, eating and talking group -- meets on the 1st & 3rd Thursdays of the month.  Next meeting is Thursday, June 5.  We meet from 9:30 to 11:30 in Room1.
